The Western Region Summer Institute for Women is a great program that is held every year in order to bring union women from around the region together. This year’s conference will be held at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), on August 9th. All women of our union are welcome to attend and for activists and leaders it’s a great experience. To encourage younger members to attend this year the conference is waiving the registration fee for any participant under 35! This makes it an even better deal for you and your locals.
This year's theme, Breaking Down Barriers and Borders, will foster dialogue and strategies to address the issues and challenges facing working women today. The 5-day residential program will bring together organizers from unions, community organizations, and student groups from the western United States, British Columbia, and beyond, for a week of leadership development, skills-building, and networking.
So if you are able to attend, head over and register no later than 5 pm PDT, Monday, June 13, 2016:
