Astoria — Council Representative
Issa Simpson was a union activist at Local 3336 (DEQ) before transitioning into a Council Representative position in 2003. A native of the Tri-Cities area of Washington, Simpson has lived in Oregon since she was 12. She attended Reed College after high school for a year, then became involved in a tree planting workers cooperative for a decade. She then spent 12 years as a hospice care giver before taking a position at the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality, where she quickly became involved with Local 3336 as a steward and executive board member. Away from the office, Simpson “likes to be outside.” She swims, bikes and enjoys cats.

Bend — Council Representative
Jared Kollen has been a Council Representative since 2015. Prior to working for AFSCME, Kollen spent nine years as an Correctional Officer for the Oregon Department of Corrections and served as a steward, secretary-treasurer and president of his local. A native of Central Oregon, away from the office Kollen loves to cook, read and is a big Seattle Seahawks fan.
Eugene — Office Specialist
Tami Preskitt has worked as an Office Specialist in the AFSCME Eugene office since 2012. Before coming to AFSCME she spent 12 years in the financial advising industry. She is a native Oregonian and an avid Oregon Duck fan. She graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in Finance and a minor in Sociology. Preskitt is married with two daughters.

Eugene — Council Representative
Jim Steiner has been a Council Representative since 1999. Prior to joining the union staff Steiner was an active member-leader with Local 1148 in the Public Works Department at the City of Springfield. A "military brat," Steiner attended 13 different schools growing up, but his mother was a native Oregonian and Steiner eventually settled in Oregon and attended both the University of Oregon and Linfield College. A noted outdoorsman, away from the office Steiner likes to fish, golf and hunt. He and his wife, Diane, live in Eugene.

Ontario — Council Representative
Allan MacLean has been a Council Representative since 2012. Immediately prior to joining the union staff, MacLean was a Correctional Officer and member-leader for 11 years at Snake River Correctional Institution. His previous work includes time as a small business owner and a stint in California in the automotive industry where he was a member of the Machinists Union. A native of the San Francisco Bay Area, MacLean attended both DeAnza Community College and West Valley Community College. He enjoys motor sports away from the office.
Ontario — Office Specialist
Idalia Stam has been the Office Specialist in the Ontario office since 1996. Born in Idaho, her family soon moved across the border and she attended school in the small Oregon town of Adrian. Prior to working for AFSCME she was an assistant branch manager for Wells Fargo. She lives in Nyssa with her husband, Jon; they have two grown children. Stam volunteers for the Nyssa High School Booster Club and the local Boys and Girls Club.
Pendleton — Office Specialist
LeAnna Jones has been the Pendleton Office Specialist since 1992. A native of Pendleton, she graduated from Pendleton High School and Trend Business College with Legal and Executive Secretary certificates. Away from the office, Jones enjoys horseback riding, hunting, riding ATVs, camping, cooking and shooting.

Amy Marvin joined Oregon AFSCME in September of 2016. Prior to that Amy spent 9 years working as an organizer with SEIU locals and AFSCME International. Away from work, Amy enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and son.

Pendleton — Council Representative
Roger Ware has been a Council Representative since 2014. Ware is a veteran Council 75 member and activist. Prior to joining the union staff, Ware spent 17 years as an Oregon Correctional Officer and served several terms a local union officer and as a member of the Security unit bargaining team. An Oregon native, Ware has lived in-state his entire life except for five years in the U.S. Army. He is the father of three adult children. Off work, he enjoys the outdoors — horseback riding, hunting and fishing in particular.
